1. Investigate the situation
Address what the team is doing wrong and begin fixing what’s broken
2. Initiate belief
The only way for a team to change is if people believe in themselves. As the leader, you must initiate that belief
3. Create energy
To bring a greater level of energy to the team, you need to be energetic. Eventually, your energy will spread
4. Communicate Hope
The greatest need of players at this stage is hope. Help them see the potential of the team
5. Model behavior that has a high return
People do what people see
6. Develop relationships w/ people of potential
Start with the people who have the potential to be productive. Remember, leaders touch a heart before they ask for a hand
7. Set up small victories and talk teammates through them
Nothing helps people grow in skill and confidence like having some wins under their belts
8. Communicate vision
Keep the vision before your team continually because vision gives team members direction and confidence
